NETCO MD Hosts Young Professionals “Tigers” to Anniversary Dinner, Reaffirms Vision for Growth

The Managing Director of NETCO recently hosted the company’s young professionals, popularly known as the “Tigers,” to a special dinner in celebration of their first anniversary with the organisation. The event was further distinguished by the attendance of the Chief Human Resources Officer, Mr. Kazachiyang Nuhu, who served as the guest of honour.

The gathering, which brought together management and the young professionals in a relaxed and engaging atmosphere, was aimed at strengthening bonds and recognising the contributions of the Tigers over the past year.

In his remarks, the Managing Director emphasised NETCO’s legacy, describing it as a company with unique strengths and distinct operational peculiarities that set it apart in the industry. He noted that the organisation is currently being repositioned to compete effectively and secure major projects in an increasingly competitive landscape.

He commended the Tigers for their dedication and contributions since joining the company, expressing appreciation for their commitment during their first year. According to him, the dinner was not only to celebrate their milestone but also to provide an avenue for interaction and mentorship.

Leadership Insights and Encouragement for Young Professional

During the event, the Chief Human Resource Officer, Kazachiyang Nuhu, conveyed his gratitude to the management for organising the dinner and the interactive session. He emphasised that fostering a high-performance culture within NETCO depends upon consistent engagement and meaningful communication between leadership and employees.

In congratulating the Tigers on reaching their one-year anniversary, Kazachiyang Nuhu drew upon his own experience as a young professional at NNPC Limited. He urged the Tigers to demonstrate resilience in the face of setbacks and challenges, encouraging them to make decisive choices, develop self-confidence, and remain focused on their professional growth.

He further discussed the dynamic nature of both the industry and NETCO itself, stressing the importance of preparing for future leadership roles within the company.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO), Abdullahi Yuguda, also addressed the attendees, revealing plans to enable the Tigers to gain exposure to project sites as a key aspect of their professional development. He highlighted the wealth of opportunities available within NETCO and encouraged the Tigers to focus on taking advantage of these prospects.

Acknowledging the heightened competition in the sector, the COO reassured the young professionals that the management remains approachable, with open doors for questions, guidance, and consultation.

The Executive Director, Commercial and Business Development, Mr Umar Aminu, met individually with the young professionals, advising them to embrace innovation and remain dedicated to excellence in their work.

Additionally, Engr. Franklin Nwaneto shared his own experience as a young engineer at NETCO, encouraging the Tigers to maintain a strong work ethic.

Representing the Tigers, Ayodeji Olopade expressed optimism about the direction set by the current management and conveyed confidence in NETCO’s future. He appealed to management to continue offering opportunities for young professionals to explore and develop their careers.

The dinner concluded on a celebratory note, reinforcing the company’s commitment to nurturing talent, fostering collaboration and building the next generation of industry leaders.
