In a concerted effort to quicken the Rehabilitation and Quick-Fix of the Refineries, the Management of NNPC Engineering and Technical Company Limited (NETCO) recently conducted a thorough site inspection at the Warri Refining & Petrochemicals Company Limited (WRPC) and Port Harcourt Refining Company Limited.
Led by the Managing Director of NETCO, Dr. Tonye Alagba, the visit aimed to evaluate the progress of the rehabilitation projects and ensure their timely completion.
NETCO and its subcontractor KRB, the designated Project Management Consultant and owner’s Engineer, are supervising the rehabilitation and quick-fix project for the refineries carried out by Tecnimont Nigeria Limited and Daewoo E&C Nigeria Limited.

Despite setbacks in the Rehabilitation Project, attributed to global procurement challenges stemming from COVID-19 lockdowns in China and the Russia-Ukraine Crisis, a recovery plan has been implemented. This plan includes the deployment of necessary resources for schedule recovery, air freighting of critical equipment such as pumps and instruments, local procurement of piping materials, electric cables, and instruments, as well as the implementation of extended work hours through shift doubling, day and night shifts.
Addressing the staff, Dr. Tonye Alagba emphasized NETCO's commitment to significantly contributing to the revitalization of the nation's refineries.
Through efficient project management and strategic partnerships, NETCO is diligently working towards ensuring the prompt completion of the rehabilitation and quick fix of all three refineries. Staff members are assured of full support to restore and enhance the operational efficiency of these crucial national assets.
Moreover, the refineries will produce a range of products including Premium Motor Spirit (Petrol) Automobile Gas Oil (Diesel), Liquefied Petroleum Gas, Aviation Turbine Kerosine, and Household kerosene, among others.
