Goal Zero Campaign: A Celebration of Safety and Engagement

This year’s theme, “Goal Zero – Finishing Strong,” resonated with employees across the organization, further cementing NETCO’s steadfast dedication to ensuring zero incidents and promoting a culture of safety and awareness.

The campaign was full with activities designed to educate, motivate, and reward employees for their contribution to safety excellence. Two major competitions took centre stage: an online Quiz Competition and a creative Poster Competition. These events provided a platform for staff to showcase their knowledge, creativity, and commitment to safety which also helped in fostering good camaraderie and a healthy competitive spirit within the workplace.

The Quiz Competition which was open to all eligible staff (excluding HSEQ personnel), was conducted entirely online, in line with NETCO’s modern and tech-savvy approach towards engagement.

The second event of Goal Zero campaign was the Poster Design Competition, which invited employees to channel their creativity while reinforcing the theme of the week: Goal Zero – Finishing Strong. Participants were tasked with designing posters that incorporated key elements:

  • The NETCO logo
  • The Goal Zero logo
  • The official slogan: Goal Zero – Finishing Strong

The contest brought out several imaginative entries, each showing unique interpretations of the theme. The posters not only demonstrated the participants’ artistic talents but also reflected the importance of maintaining safety standards and finishing the year with zero incidents.

After much deliberation, a winning poster was selected for its striking design, clear messaging, and alignment with the campaign’s objectives. The winning entry was prominently displayed during the campaign’s events, serving as a visual reminder of NETCO’s unwavering commitment to safety.

The highlight of Goal Zero campaign was the fire emergency drill, an important exercise that brought the entire organization together to practice response to fire outbreak and enhance emergency preparedness. The drill was meticulously planned and executed, with the participation of the local fire service.

Fire service officials delivered a compelling speech on the importance of fire safety. Their insights were invaluable, offering employees practical tips on how to prevent and respond to fire incidents both at work and at home.

The drill reinforced NETCO’s proactive approach to safety, emphasizing that knowledge and preparation are key to handling emergencies effectively. Employees left the session feeling more informed and confident in their ability to act swiftly and responsibly in the event of a fire.

The top three winners of the Quiz Competition, the creator of the winning poster, and the top safety reporter on NETCO’s “U See U Act” platform were all honoured with gifts. These awards celebrated their dedication to safety, creativity, and proactive engagement.

The “U See U Act” platform, a key initiative encouraging employees to report potential safety hazards and take corrective actions, has helped instil a culture of accountability and vigilance. Recognizing the top safety reporter was a testament to the program’s success and the critical role employees play in upholding NETCO’s safety standards.

Goal Zero campaign 2024 was more than just a series of activities—it was a celebration of NETCO’s collective commitment to safety and a reminder of the values that drive the organization forward. By engaging employees through interactive and meaningful initiatives, NETCO reinforced the importance of vigilance, preparedness, and teamwork in achieving its Goal Zero objectives.

With the campaign at a close, employees walked away with a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper understanding of their role in creating a safe and secure workplace. The energy and enthusiasm displayed throughout the campaign reflected the strength of NETCO’s culture, where safety is not just a policy but a way of life
