Salahuddeen Tahir Set to Position Netco as a World Class EPCI, O&M Company
The new NETCO MD, Engr. Salahudeen Tahir, during his inaugural Town Hall meeting with staff at NETCO's corporate office in Lagos, pledged his commitment towards NNPC Limited's mandate of making NETCO a world-class engineering company of choice. An elated Engr. Tahir hinted that the Town Hall meeting was aimed at meeting and familiarizing himself with staff, as he planned to have more Town Hall meetings in the foreseeable future, where facts, figures, and strategic business plans would be mapped out.
He noted that NETCO was originally established as an engineering outfit, but today the company is venturing into Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) and Project Management Consultancy (PMC); therefore, NETCO should be well-prepared for the tasks ahead. He said: “NNPC Limited has charged us with this mandate as we aspire to become a global energy company of choice, and to achieve this, we need an outfit that can handle EPC, PMC, and O&M. That outfit is NETCO, where the NNPC culture is ingrained in us, and our dream is for NETCO to be an internationally acclaimed world-class company.”
Engr. Tahir further reiterated that the responsibility lies with all staff to chart the course towards achieving our EPC, PMC, and O&M goals, while assuring staff that a feasible plan has been put in place to ensure the sustainability of NETCO’s future. He informed that a retreat will be organized to review the company's businesses with critical analyses that will chart a short, mid, and long-term course for NETCO.
Engr. Tahir expressed his gratitude to staff and the leadership of the company for putting the necessary machinery in place, which cleared the ‘hurdle’ upon his assumption of office. He also urged staff to work together in unity to achieve the company’s common goal as NETCO strives to become a world-class engineering outfit.
Recall that NNPC Limited recently appointed Engr. Salahudeen Tahir as the 17th Managing Director of the NNPC Engineering & Technical Company (NETCO), Nigeria’s foremost indigenous engineering company.
Engr. Tahir will be piloting the affairs of NETCO with the aim of achieving the NNPC mandate of positioning NETCO as a world-class engineering company.
