The Management of NNPC has appointed Mr. Babajo Salisu Tijani as the Executive Director Services (EDS) in NETCO effective April 20, 2017.  The new NETCO EDS graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1984.

A member of Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and International Facility Management Association (IFMA). Facility Management Professional (FMP), Mr Babajo joined NNPC on May 16, 1986 and has held various job functions within the Corporation in his 31-year service.  Among the job functions are General Manager, Support Services, Greenfield Refinery Projects Division from November 2016 to April 2017;  Acting General Manager, Group Admin Services Department, NNPC Towers; Manager, Office and Management Services NNPC Towers; Deputy Manager, Office Services, NNPC Towers; Deputy Manager, Total Quality Management, IDSL, Benin.

The new NETCO Executive Director Services also served as Chief Research and Price Intelligence Officer, PPMC, Kaduna Area Office; Deputy/Chief Security, Fire and Safety Officer, NNPC Lagos Zonal Office; Assistant Chief Administrative Officer, NNPC Warri Zonal Office; Senior Administrative Officer, NNPC Warri Zonal Office; Administrative Officer I, Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited (WRPC); Administrative Officer II, Communication, Kaduna  Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited (KRPC) and Personal Officer II, Refineries Sector Headquarters, Kaduna.

In the course of serving the Corporation, Mr. Babajo has served in many committees which include NNPC Restructuring and Change Management Programme office as well as member of Project Implementation Committee in March this year.  He served as Chairman, Committee on review of Office and Space Allocation Guidelines at NNPC Corporate Headquarters in November 2016.  In September 2015, Mr. Babajo served on the committee on Cost Reduction/Optimization in NNPC set up by Group Executive Director, Finance and Services Directorate.

Between 2009 and 2013, he served as Chairman, Departmental NNPC Group Admin Services, Tender’s Committee (DTC) while between June 2007 and July 2008 he served as Member/Alternate Chairman, Management Tenders Board of IDSL, Benin. The new NETCO EDS served as member of Petroleum Products Monitoring Committee for Kaduna Metropolis between January and June 2007.  In March 2005, he was a member of committee on verification of prices of petroleum products set up by the Executive Governor of Kaduna State.

Mr Babajo has attended many local and international courses and conferences among which are International Facility Management Association (IFMA) Workplace Conferences and Expos, USA in 2014, 2013, 2012, and 2011.  He also attended courses by the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) on Building and leading a high performance team in April 2013 and Recruitment and Selection Skills in November 2013.

In November 2012, the NETCO EDS attended a course in Dubai on Contract Risk Management and Compliance. He attended Facility Management core Professional Courses and was awarded Facility Management Professional (FMP) Designation/Certification on April 11, 2011.  He has also attended courses on Managing Contract Procedures, Tenders Specification and Contract, Analytical Problem Solving and Creative Thinking, Project Management, Strategic Sales Management Workshop, Petroleum Marketing in a Deregulated Market, Price Mechanism for product import and export, Leadership and Motivation, Safety Manager’s Forum and Effective Communication Course in various locations of the Corporation. In September 2008 also attended Risk Based Process Safety Management course at Houston, Texas, USA.

Born on August 15, 1962, Mr Babajo is an experienced Human Resources practitioner and facility Manager .He is highly committed, customer focussed and team player with passion for excellent service delivery.  He has a track record of value addition to activities of NNPC spanning over three decades of dedicated service in the upstream and downstream sectors of the Corporation.  He is happily married and his hobbies include reading, current affairs and walking.
