ENGR. SARAFA IBRAHIM APPOINTED AS NETCO MANAGER ENGINEERING

The Management of NNPC recently appointed Engr. Sarafa Ayobami Ibrahim as NETCO’s Manager Engineering. The newly appointed Manager Engineering is a COREN Registered Mechanical Engineer and a full member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMechE).

A graduate of University of Ilorin with Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering who also has a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Lagos, Engr. Ibrahim is a self-motivated professional with over twenty three (23) years’ experience in the oil and gas industry.

He has over the years since he joined NNPC in 1993 added value through various contributions to the progress of NETCO in particular and NNPC in general. He was the Project Manager responsible for planning, directing and co-ordinating the activities on NGC Gas supply to Ogijo customers, member of the NNPC Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the review and user acceptance tests of Project Sanctioning and Approval Procedure.

Engr. Ibrahim is a mentor and coach to some of the young professional engineers in NETCO to produce quality mechanical deliverables on projects. He is committed to providing leadership and technical supervision to Mechanical engineering activities and ensuring these are carried out in accordance with procedures, design guides, technical instructions so as to meet client requirements on schedule, budget and quality.

The newly appointed Manager Engineering served as a member of the committee for the Formulation of Gratuity for NETCO’s direct staff as well as a member of the committee for the resolution of impasse on contract awarded to Baywood Continental for the Oredo Flowstation relocation upgrade project.

In the area of project responsibilities, Engr. Ibrahim has managed project activities and interfacing with clients for smooth running of various projects, co-ordination of engineering design activities on various projects, coordination of project meetings and issuance of project progress reports, ensuring strict compliance with project quality, schedule and cost targets as well as managing mechanical engineering activities and interfacing with various disciplines.

He has taken part in various projects and construction supervision which includes NGC EPC gas supply to Ogijo customers as Project Co-ordinator, CNL pig trap modification FEED/DED as Project Manager, CNL Escravos PWD as Project Manager, CNL Escravos produced water disposal DED as Project Manager, NGC Obigbo North-Owaza gas pipeline FEED as Project Manager, MPN piping facilities upgrade FEED as Area Manager,  NLNG SevenPlus-CSU FEED as Project Manager, MPN EIU SHE Upgrade as Lead Mechanical Engineer, WRPC Waste water treatment plant project and KRPC TAM and Rehabilitation project.

Before joining NNPC, Engr, Ibrahim worked with Guinness Nigeria Plc as Maintenance Engineer, National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) and National Iron Ore Company Limited (NIOMCo).

He is married with children.  His hobbies include community development services, jogging and farming.
